About

I started working as a furniture designer and maker from a simple desire to create beautiful things. I originally studied Materials Science at Oxford, where we learnt about all sorts of engineered materials, but no natural materials. To be back in Oxford studying at Rycotewood has been a fantastic opportunity to better understand wood as a material to work with. Whilst challenging to work with, its beauty and tactility is without parallel, and I seek to showcase this in the work that I do.

As well as using timber for making furniture, I am also in the process of planting woodland with a view to high quality timber production for the generations to come.

I aim to create furniture that will long outlast us all and it is this ambition that shapes my creative process. Even though I’m based in Oxford, I have had pieces commissioned by clients from all over the world, so if you like the works displayed on my site, please get in touch.
